1. Compliance and Integrity:
- Integrity of Entries: All information provided in the application must be truthful, accurate, and complete. Any form of misrepresentation, plagiarism, or intellectual property infringement will result in immediate disqualification and potential legal action.
- Confidentiality Agreement: Participants may be required to enter into a confidentiality agreement to protect the proprietary information and trade secrets of all entries. Judges and organizers are also bound by confidentiality to ensure that all submissions are protected.
- Prohibition of Bribery and Corruption: Offering any type of incentive to judges, organizers, or any other party involved with the administration of the prize is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification and potential legal ramifications.
- Compliance with Laws: Participants must ensure that their entries and their conduct comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances, both locally and internationally.
2. Judging and Decisions:
- Judging Decisions Are Final: Decisions made by the judging panel are final and binding. There will be no appeals or reviews of the judging decisions. Participants must accept these terms upon entry.
- No Unsolicited Materials: Unsolicited materials sent to judges or organizing members will not influence the competition’s outcome and may result in disqualification.
- No Conflict of Interest: Participants must disclose any relationships that could be viewed as a potential conflict of interest with the judging panel or prize organizers. Failure to disclose such information may lead to disqualification.
3. Participant Responsibilities:
- Adherence to Timelines: All entries must be submitted by the deadlines specified in the application materials. Late submissions will not be considered, and there are no exceptions to this rule.
- Publicity Rights: By entering the competition, participants grant the organizers unrestricted rights to use their names, photographs, and entries for publicity purposes without compensation.
- Responsibility for Costs: Participants are responsible for all costs associated with their participation in the competition, including submissions, presentation materials, and any associated travel if required.
- Withdrawal and Disqualification: Participants may withdraw from the competition at any time. However, organizers also reserve the right to disqualify entries that fail to adhere to the competition’s rules and standards without notice.
4. Amendments and Updates:
- Amendments to Rules: The organizers reserve the right to amend these rules at any time. If an amendment occurs, participants will be informed through the appropriate channels.
5. General Conditions
To maintain the integrity of the FTE Awards, participants must adhere to several key terms and conditions. These include:
- All entries will be handled with strict confidentiality, but select details may be shared with judges for evaluation purposes.
- Entry fees are non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the evaluation process.
- Participants may choose to withdraw their submission at any time by notifying the organizers in writing, but entry fees will not be refunded.
6. Awards Ceremony
Finalists and winners are invited to the FTE Awards ceremony, a prestigious event celebrating the finest tech talent in Nigeria. The following applies:
- Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to receive their awards.
- Awards are non-transferable and must be accepted as presented.
7. Important Deadlines
We encourage all interested parties to submit their entries well before the final deadline. Please note the following dates:
- Submission Deadline: All entries must be received by August 31, 2024.
- Awards Ceremony: The awards ceremony will be held on December 13, 2024 in Eko Hotel, Lagos.
8. Additional Rules
To make sure there is fairness and clarity in the competition, the following rules apply:
- Disqualification: Any incomplete or non-compliant entries will be disqualified.
- Previous Winners: Individuals or companies that won in the previous year may not compete in the same category again for the following year.
- Publicity: Shortlisted entrants agree to participate in promotional activities and media coverage as part of the awards process.
- Attendance: Finalists are required to cover their own travel and accommodation costs for attending the awards ceremony.
